Michael Freed, MD, was awarded the 2015 Cardiology Founders Award (Section on Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery) by the American Academy of Pediatrics. This award recognizes outstanding contributions in the field of pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery.Sarah Goldberg, MD, was awarded the American Heart Association’s Women in Cardiology Trainee Award for Excellence. This award sponsored her to attend the 2015 American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions.Andy Powell, MD, was elected Vice Secretary-Treasurer for the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR). SCMR is the leading international representative and advocate for all physicians, scientists and technologists working in CMR to improve patient outcomes through excellence in education, training, standards, research and development.
